Reasons for considering postgraduate study

I really enjoy my subject

This is a highly motivating reason to do a higher degree. It’s worth considering the long-term implications of your choice though. Does your choice of course fit in with your career plans? All further study programmes will enable you to develop skills that you could market to an employer but some will be of much more use to you than others.

I need it to pursue my chosen career

Some career areas do require a professional qualification, for example, law and teaching. For other employment areas a postgraduate qualification, although not essential, will provide a distinct advantage to applicants, particularly when competition for places is fierce. Research the area of work that interests you to identify whether a postgraduate course would be necessary or advantageous.

I want to convert to a new career area

Many postgraduate programmes provide a way of converting to a particular career area. These may be taught Masters or diploma/certificate qualifications.

It is also possible to convert to a new career area through employment. Many recruiters offer employment opportunities for graduates of any discipline and provide the relevant professional training.

I don’t know what to do - this will give me more time to decide

Past experience suggests undertaking a further year or more of study to get careers inspiration is not necessarily helpful. If you choose a course for this reason, it is important to use the time to actively research your options.

My tutors suggested I take this course

Students are sometimes offered postgraduate places by their tutors, possibly with funding attached. This can seem a very tempting offer but it does not mean it is the right option for you. Is the course or research programme of real interest to you and does it link with your career goals? Postgraduate study may be a good option but is staying at the same university the right choice?

What do employers think about postgraduate study?

Some employers place great value in the advanced knowledge and skills developed in a postgraduate course. They may also conclude that doing further study demonstrates determination to succeed in the chosen career area and that the candidate is prepared to undertake further training.

However, for other employers a postgraduate degree may offer no advantage or have a negative impact. Some common employer concerns about candidates with postgraduate degrees include: specialisation and narrowness of interest; difficulties in integrating into a business environment; and unrealistic salary expectations.

Because of these differences of opinion, it is important to do as much research into your prospective employers as possible before enrolling.

Researching your options

Have a look at explore types of jobs, job adverts and other literature from employers and professional bodies. Also talk to employers at fairs or other recruitment events.

Consider the following questions:

  • Is a postgraduate qualification essential or desirable?
  • Does the employer value relevant experience more than a postgraduate qualification?
  • Do they welcome qualifications from all institutions or are they only interested in select institutions?
  • Would having a postgraduate qualification place you ahead of candidates who hold only a bachelors level degree, or make-up for not possessing the necessary grades at A level or first degree level?
  • Would you receive a higher starting salary or advance more rapidly within the organisation with a postgraduate degree?

technics to do well in test

To do well on tests you must first learn the material,
and then review it before the test.

These are techniques to better understand your material:

Learning

  • Take good notes in your class lectures and textbooks

  • Review your notes soon after class/lecture

  • Review notes briefly before the next class

  • Schedule some time at the end of the week for a longer review

Reviewing

  • Take good notes
about as your teacher tells you what will be on the test

  • Organize your notes, texts, and assignments
according to what will be on the test

  • Estimate the hours you'll need to review materials

  • Draw up a schedule
that blocks units of time and material

  • Test yourself on the material

  • Finish your studying the day before the exam

tips for visual learner

“Learning, for visual-spatial learners, takes place all at once, with large chunks of information grasped in intuitive leaps, rather than in the gradual accretion of isolated facts, small steps or habit patterns gained through practice. For example, they can learn all of the multiplication facts as a related set in a chart much easier and faster than memorizing each fact independently." 1

Organizing:

  • The visual/spatial perspective is the organizing principle
Perfectionism for visual/spatial learners is a well-ordered and -designed space with each object in its place and appealingly so.
They are uncomfortable, even restless, encountering incomplete or unsettled situations
  • With an instinctive sense of balance and completeness
they can tell when something is out of alignment, or not truly horizontal or vertical.
They are adept at working with mirror images and rotating images in their minds, and strive to bring order by constructing, arranging, color coding, or fixing things

Observing/experiencing:

  • Visual/spatial learners are good at seeing the “big picture”
of both simple and complex systems. Overviews or summaries are their specialty, often at the expense of remembering details or constructing sequences
  • Personal presentation (dress, grooming, even gestures) is important
Their own presentation/dress is as important as what they notice about others. They establish eye contact when speaking, though can be distracted by their surroundings. So also background sounds can disrupt their listening skills, and they often doodle during lectures, at meetings, etc.
  • They prefer to read and work under subdued or natural lighting
and in comfortable conditions, and are uncomofrtable with glare/harsh lighting, rough clothing, drafts, and temperature extremes

learning graphic/wordLearning strategies:

  • Focus on the learning objectives of the class
Meet with the teacher to understand and apply these to your situation
  • Request advanced organizers
to help you relate to new material with what you already know
  • Look for opportunities to work with, manipulate and/or engage new material
    • Hands-on approach manipulating forms or objects
    • Using visual clues or landmarks rather than (verbal) sequential steps
  • Look for visual/spatial dimensions in your study:
    Example: geometry has more visual components than algebra in mathematics;
    physics rather than chemistry in science;
    graphic applications in computer science and technology fields;
studio arts in the creative arts, architecture, mechanics, aeronautics, engineering, urban planning
  • Seek out independent and open-ended studies,
problem-based learning, case studies, or ways you can be more active with the material to be learned and have alternative strategies of assessment or demonstrating learning

study habits and using technology graphic

Study habits

  • Always have the "big picture" before you
especially when studying its parts or details
  • When trying to remember things,
close your eyes to get a “picture” or image of the information to facilitate recall or use flash cards with limited information so that you can "picture" details and concepts
  • Once a concept is grasped,
Practise applying the information to new situations or progressive stepped learning
in place of routine drill and practice that will challenge your attention span
  • Use mind or concept maps (rather than outlines)
to organize writing assignments to visualize ideas, their connections, sequences, and conclusions
Brainstorm using illustrations, mind maps and models
  • Look for alternative sources of visual material when you study
videos, overheads and PowerPoint demonstrations, graphs, maps, and media programs

Using technology:

  • Take advantage of the visual elements
of the computer in studying or locating information
  • Take advantage of stop/start/replay
    in mediated programs
  • Produce your own mediated programs
    in place of written reports
  • Develop and apply graphical and/or three dimensional models
    to understand new material

lectures, texts, and testsFor lectures

  • Avoid visual distractions
in classroom seating (windows, open doorways, etc.)
  • Look for opportunities to break up lectures
with reflective though active exercises (question-write-pair-share) and brain-storming sessions
  • Illustrate your notes
    with images and graphs
  • Review and organize your notes after class
    with concept maps
  • Keep and organize a file of handouts
and summary documents after lectures for review
  • Request "guided notes" or blanks in handouts
that provide you with cues for completion

Reading text books

  • Look through titles, charts, graphs, and pictures
to get an overall idea of the content before reading a chapter
  • Use color highlighers
    to emphasize important material
  • Write or illustrate in the margins
    to emphasize important material

Test taking/assessment

  • Write out/illustrate steps in a sequence
as a checklist to keep on task
  • Think of visual cues and associations in remembering information
(You may also see the location of an answer rather than the answer itself!)
  • If you are challenged by standardized and/or timed tests,
meet with your teacher to discuss alternatives for assessment
  • Essay and/or short answer tests, or class presentations/demonstrations may be optional assessment techniques

Learning Holistically

The alternative strategy is to focus on actually using the information you have to build something. This involves linking concepts together and compressing information so it fits in the bigger picture. Here are some ideas to get started:

  1. Metaphor – Metaphors can allow you to quickly organize information by comparing a complex idea to a simple one. When you find relationships between information, come up with analogies to increase your understanding. Compare neurons with waves on a string. Make metaphors comparing parts of a brain with sections of your computer.
  2. Use All Your Senses - Abstract ideas are difficult to memorize because they are far removed from our senses. Shift them closer by coming up with vivid pictures, feelings and images that relate information together. When I learned how to do a determinant of a matrix, I remembered the pattern by visualizing my hands moving through the numbers, one adding and one subtracting.
  3. Teach It - Find someone who doesn’t understand the topic and teach it to them. This exercise forces you to organize. Spending five minutes explaining a concept can save you an hour of combined studying for the same effect.
  4. Leave No Islands – When you read through a textbook, every piece of information should connect with something else you have learned. Fast learners do this automatically, but if you leave islands of information, you won’t be able to reach them during a test.
  5. Test Your Mobility - A good way to know you haven’t linked enough is that you can’t move between concepts. Open up a word document and start explaining the subject you are working with. If you can’t jump between sections, referencing one idea to help explain another, you won’t be able to think through the connections during a test.
  6. Find Patterns – Look for patterns in information. Information becomes easier to organize if you can identify broader patterns that are similar across different topics. The way a neuron fires has similarities to “if” statements in programming languages.
  7. Build a Large Foundation - Reading lots and having a general understanding of many topics gives you a lot more flexibility in finding patterns and metaphors in new topics. The more you already know, the easier it is to learn.
  8. Don’t Force - I don’t spend much time studying before exams. Forcing information during the last few days is incredibly inefficient. Instead try to slowly interlink ideas as they come to you so studying becomes a quick recap rather than a first attempt at learning.
  9. Build Models – Models are simple concepts that aren’t true by themselves, but are useful for describing abstract ideas. Crystallizing one particular mental image or experience can create a model you can reference when trying to understand. When I was trying to tackle the concept of subspaces, I visualized a blue background with a red plane going through it. This isn’t an entirely accurate representation of what a subspace is, but it created a workable image for future ideas.
  10. Learning is in Your Head – Having beautiful notes and a perfectly highlighted textbook doesn’t matter if you don’t understand the information in it. Your only goal is to understand the information so it will stick with you for assignments, tests and life. Don’t be afraid to get messy when scrawling out ideas on paper and connecting them in your head. Use notes and books as a medium for learning rather than an end result.

TEKS UCAPAN YAB TUAN GURU DATO’ HJ. NIK ABD.

(Surah Al A’Raaf : Ayat 31).

Rendang kayu kerana daunnya
Terpandang Melayu kerana pantunnya.

Sidang hadirin yang dihormati sekalian,

Kalau berladang kurang tekun
Lesap padi ditelan belukar
Kalaulah hilang tukang pantun
Senyap sunyi bandar yang besar.

Kapal belayar dari Arakan
Selit besi jadi kemudi
Mati ikan kerana umpan
Mati “ambo” kerana budi

Tuan Puteri ke Tanjung Keling
Bilah mengkuang dianyam tenang
Biar isteri benci menjeling
Tetaplah abang terkenang-kenang.

Naik bertamu di Pulau Tawar
Singgah menjala di Kg. Bantal
Pahit jeling jadi penawar
Abang simpan di bawah bantal.

Ujung rusuk patah tulang
Kena tindih kayu rasak
Kalau sungguh rindukan bulan
Tunggu dulu lepas Isya’.

Tebuk kayu dengan pahat
Kelek mangkuk pakai topi
Kata mahu keluar jihad
Nampak tersangkut di kedai kopi?

Anak ayam turun lapan
Mati seekor tinggal tujuh
Harap berdoa kepada Tuhan
Supaya terang jalan bersuluh.

Tiang sehasta dibuat galah
Berpanjang lengan kait melati
Berjuang kita ke jalan Allah
Biar dengan sepenuh hati.

Manis sungguh dokong tuan
Malam resah pelita mati
Payah apa sokong bulan
Mungkin susah tapi tak mati.

Apa dirisau hantu jembalang
Quran dibaca berhari-hari
Tubuh besar janggut panjang
Bunyi wisel kenapa lari?

Dayung sambil pasir kemudi
Air deras di Ulu Tersat
Jangan diambil jalan Yahudi
Itu sah menuju sesat.

Ikan belanak ditutup saji
Saji dianyam oleh Pak Mahat
Orang khianat jangan dipuji
Makin dipuji makinlah jahat.

Sejak kera masuk negeri
Anak merbah mati tersepak
Sejak ketua sibuk mencuri
Anak buah jadi perompak.

Burung punai burung kelicap
Hinggap berkawan di hujung dahan
Tiada guna lawa dan kacak
Jika melawan hukum Tuhan.

Tanam halia tumbuh lengkuas
Semak daun si api-api
Apa guna kaya rasuah
Esok dipanggang di atas api.

Terbang kunang di tengah malam
Hinggap masuk di tiang seri
Tangan kanan ajak bersalam
Apa maksud pisau di kiri.

Hujung kota patik menanti
Orang Kaya Laksamana Bentan
Tuan berkata sesuka hati
Karamlah saya tujuh lautan.

Tuanku umpama emas segetus
Segak bertempat indah seorang
Hamba umpama selipar yang putus
Tiba bertempat dilupa orang

Bermamah sirih di tengah pelita
Pahit mulut sampai ke pagi
Terbit suluh batilpun pergi.

Biar bersambung bedilan ferenggi
Takku tinggal ini kota
Islam berbumbung di awan tinggi
Mengatasi segala mainan kata.

Gua Bama sungai hulu
Kuala Damak berbatu karang
Hamba umpama dagang lalu
Nasi ditanak milik orang.

Rata lapang gunung Tahan
Bukit Rapat Bukit Cekati
Kita menumpang bumi Tuhan
Jangan dibuat sesuka hati.

Daun palas ikan kelah
Mari diikat dengan tali
Niat ikhlas kerana Allah
Syirik tidak sekali-kali.

Papan tualang mari diukir
Buat tongkat sikayu jati
Siang malam hidup berzikir
Kuat ibadat sebelum mati.

Akar tersat jambu batu
Ikat kolek bertali kain
Resam ibadat niat bertentu
Bukan boleh dibuat main.

Jalan bengkok terkial-kial
Sambil mengupas limau langkap
Tengokkan songkok bagaikan kiyai
Kenapa membaca tergagap-gagap?

Apa guna berkain batik
Jika labuh berbayang-bayang
Apa guna beristeri cantik
Jika Subuh tidak sembahyang.

Teluk Rokan tempat memancing
Angkat raga berisi gelas
Jika ikan umpannya cacing
Syarat Syurga ialah ikhlas.

Tunas selasih dibuat rebung
Asah belati diasap damar
Bercerai kasih boleh disambung
Berpisah mati putuslah amal.

Putus amal jika mati
Itu muktamad dari Allah
Cuma ada 3 kecuali
Anak soleh, ilmu dan sedaqah

Lantang bersahut burung bebarau
Kayu jati dibuat sarang
Adab hidup kita bergurau
Sudah mati terguling seorang.

Dari Demak ke Mekasar
Bergalah perahu tidak berbaju
Maafkan hamba jika terkasar
Allah jua tempat dituju.

Pinang dusun kacip cekati
Sirih dibilas luar rumah
Saya berpantun dari hati
Tuan balas tiba dirumah.

Indah sungguh Tanjung Sedeli
Pulau Seratus dilambai Nyonya
Sepanjang mana seutas tali

Wabillahi Taufiq Walhidayah. Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

How to improve your intelligence

A healthy brain is not only an important factor for social success, it has also an impact in the way we enjoy life, maintain a good relationship with our family and friends and overcome every day challenges. Just like everything, this amazing tool that we use for basic and complex daily tasks needs care to perform at its maximum potential. And potential, it has…

Here are 10 tips that will help you improve the power of your brain.

1- Read and learn – I like to say that a book is an infinite universe in itself. Diving in somebody else’s ideas is a great way to nourish your mind and thoughts. All books have their values. But for a novel, I suggest an author that not only knows how to tell an interesting story, but can really use words to trigger emotion, imagination and questions. Also read to learn. Learning is like renovating an old apartment. You provide your brain with new tools, new concepts, new ideas, just like a growing baby.

2- Challenge your brain – Our brain is made of a very complex network of neurons. Challenges like brain teasers, puzzles or any problems that require deep logic thoughts to be solved, put at work unused and lazy neurons, forcing them to create other connections with other neurons, creating at the end shortcuts in your brain. You will be more and more comfortable finding solutions to complex problems. You can find brain teasers in a lot of places on the internet like on my website youpeez for example.

3- Unleash your creativity – You are more creative than you think you are. You just have to force it. The best way to do that is to free yourself from your usual straight forward perceptions. For example a match can be lit. It can also be put in your nostrils. Two matches can be a X. How many matches do I need to put together to go to the moon? A skinny man, dressed in white, with a red cap? Must be a match! Pay more attention to your craziest ideas.

4- Write- Writing helps you give an external life to abstract ideas. It forces you to arrange and discipline frivolous thoughts. This will make you more comfortable in the way you categorize ideas and thoughts. It increases your logic and judgment. When I say writing, I don’t mean writing books. It’s just for example taking notes in a diary, writing simple paragraphs where you group and link different thoughts.

5- Sleep- Proper sleeping habits will be beneficial for your mental health. Sleep early and wake up early. Don’t sleep for more than 8 hours. In the middle of the day each time you can take a 10 - 15 minutes nap.

6- Exercise – Controlled physical activities are not only good for your body but also for your brain. Your hearth at that time provides to your brain a more consistent supply of oxygen. This will relax you, dismiss negative stresses that block your concentration.

7- Practice relaxation - In the morning or before sleeping or at any time where you can find loneliness and peace, sit or lay down on the floor, close your eyes, breath calmly. Focus on anything thing that inspires you or any object that just inspires nothing. Focus. Don’t let your mind wander around. At some point you can also review all the things you have seen or heard during the day. Remind yourself of strangers you have seen on the bus or in the street. This is a good way to improve your memory.

8- Eat brain food - Essential nutrients for the brain are carbohydrate (fruits, grains, and vegetables), omega-3 (salmon, sardines, trout, herring, anchovies), protein (milk, meat, cheese), Acetylcholine (egg, milk, peanuts, liver, fish, wheat germ, and vegetables like broccoli and cabbage), Dopamine (meat, fish, milk, cheese, beans, soy), Serotonin (cereals, breads, potatoes).

9- Avoid monotony – Doing the same thing again and again doesn’t stimulate your brain. Broaden your perspectives. Get out. Meet friends. Travel. Avoid wasting too much time and energy in front of a television.

10 - Be optimistic – I think that the greatest force in human nature is the will. Believing that you can do something or that you can reach your goal will tremendously boost your brain. Even when obstacles will be in your way, you will be constantly searching for new solutions. Don’t underestimate this last point in my list. Most successful people have this in common.

Two Powerful And Unstoppable Psychological Techniques To Persuade Almost Anyone To Do Anything

There are two powerful and almost irresistible elements of persuasion that when used correctly, can have a profound effect on the target of your influence. Without these two items, you will have to put a gun to somebody's head, or implicitly promise some kind of sexual or monetary reward in order to move their thinking towards what you want them to do.

The fact that many advertisements you see today blatantly (and some very covertly) use sex in any way possible to promote products and services shows that even huge marketing and advertising companies are unaware of the power of these two elements.

Because you've come across this blog today, you are about to learn them. When you finish reading this, you'll have a firm understanding of how and why they work, and some sneaky tricks that will allow you to use them starting today to get other people to do what you want.

So what are they?

Social Proof, and Authority.

Humans are hard wired to make decisions quickly. Back in the old days, before agriculture, people lived in small groups of around 200 people. If you made a wrong decision, you usually didn't last long. Because the environment and living conditions were extremely dangerous, you couldn't afford to make any mistakes.

Imagine going out chasing a woolly mammoth, and you always had the fear that if you twisted your ankle, or tripped over a rock, or got an infection from a small cut on branch, you were done. Game over. You'd likely be left behind, and probably wouldn't last long. That's hard to imagine today when almost any kind of medical ailment is easily treatable.

So humans developed a few shortcuts in decision making. One was social proof. Social proof is a powerful influential factor that causes people to get rid of logic and rational thinking and simply follow the crowd.

This worked beautifully on a woolly mammoth hunt. It kept everybody together and safe from predators. It worked terribly in Nazi Germany when everybody agreed it was ok to murder Jews. It is still working everywhere you look today, from fashion trends, to car styles, to popular restaurants. People don't like to admit it, but at our core, humans are pack animals.

The second "shortcut" in thinking is authority. Whoever is recognized as the authority in the group will usually be obeyed without question. This goes hand in hand with social proof. The more people follow a leader, the more authority he will have, which of course gives him or her more social proof as a leader.

If you were walking down the street and some homeless guy that reeked of alcohol asked you for your drivers license, you'd laugh. But if a well built police officer with two smaller officers following obediently behind him asked for your drivers license, you probably couldn't get it out quick enough.

If the man that collects your garbage told you that eating three raw onions a day is the secret to a hundred and fifty years of good health, you'd think he was a nut case. But if you heard a famous doctor, who has written several best selling, and well regarded books on health, say the same thing, you'd likely head straight over to the onion shop. And if you saw many others buying onions by the cartload, that would cement your decision even further to eat three raw onions a day.

The same message from two different sources can have a widely different effect, based only on the source. Shortcuts in thinking.

So how do you apply this to your own persuasion? Simply suggest that some kind of authority agrees with whatever you are saying. And suggest or imply that many people have already done what you are suggesting your target (or mark) do.

For example, if you are selling cars, which do you think is more persuasive:

This is a great car. It gets great gas mileage and will fit nicely in your garage. It's got many safety features that will keep you and your family safe. It's red, and red is a good color. I think you should buy this car. Whatta ya say?

Or,

Car and Driver is just one of many leading consumer magazines that has given this car a five star rating, based on many factors. When this model first came out it won three awards at the International Car Show in Italy. And of all the thousands of people that have bought this car already, two of the reasons they like it is the great gas mileage, and the incredible safety features. Of course it's red, which is a very popular color. Many people have found that when they drive a red car, for some crazy reason they feel a boost in self-confidence. Leading Psychological experts have shown that driving a red car boosts your sex appeal as well. Of course, because this model is so popular, you'll have to make a decision pretty quickly. I have three more appointments today that want to take a look at this car.

Which do you think is more persuasive?

Many experts in the science of persuasion have shown time and time again that the leading sales people who use these two powerful techniques of social proof and authority have quickly become the leaders in their field. Not only that but they get a lot more money and sex. And when you begin to use these powerful techniques in your daily conversation, you'll be amazed how effective you will be.

Have fun.

tips to do basic counselling

Sometimes we can insensitively perceive situations according to personal interest. This will inevitably invoke all manner of reactions, and whether in the workplace or the family, the way an injured person is handled can have a bearing on time management and stress levels and hence lower productivity. Sometimes when you are least affected, you may tend to display a 'I do not care' attitude, which could injure the person especially if he/she in handling family wrangles, disjointed relatives and confusing friends.

Shock, denial, anger, guilt and sadness must be dealt with when counseling a hurting person. Of course, these must be dealt with before acceptance and growth can occur. The way stress is managed makes a difference, in the person, in family and the workplace. On the other hand, companies tend to discourage showing stress openly in office because this may cause disorganization, negativity, and apathy at work which is passed to the customers.

Indeed, stress bring with it confusion and most people may not know what to do or say, or maybe they do but still find themselves saying the wrong things. Helping an injured person should not be in form of mini ceremonies, but simply simple advices. This is because giving extra attention may be more confusing to the person. A hurting person will appreciate your concern of picking up one of his responsibilities temporarily. This means that you must be able to understand the signs of a person who need help which include marked changes in personalities or detachment to emotions.

How To Use Self Hypnosis To Improve Your Memory

  1. Most often, the change is gradual and takes place anywhere from a few days or more likely, a few weeks.

  1. Relaxation, self-affirmation and awakening

Relaxation

It is important to be in a safe place during the relaxation routine. Wear loose clothing and lie down or sit comfortably. Certain environmental factors may help, like subdued lighting or soft music, but these are not essential. But if you feel it helps you, then use them. Using self imagery is one of the best ways to relax. Hypnotic practitioners use different methods but I like to keep things simple. Start from the toes, right up to the top of the head. Imagine your toes to be like a wad of tightly bundled rubber bands and imagine them loosening. Then proceed to the calf muscles, to the knees, thighs and hips. Feel the warm relaxing sensation going up to your abdomen, chest, up to your shoulders, and down to your biceps, triceps, forearms wrists and fingers. All this while, imagining your muscles in these body groups to be like tight rubber bands being unwound and the warm sensation spreading as they begin to unwind. Then proceed to relax your neck, jaws and imagining weights being attached to your eyelids as they become too heavy to keep open. Imagine the soft, relaxing feeling going to the top of your head. The relaxing process can take anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes. Anything more than that, you could seriously end up snoring!

Self-Affirmation

Before this stage, you should be in a relax-aware state where you are more susceptible to auto-suggestion. It is important to understand that you can quickly react to any dangerous situation that may arise around you. You are still in control of your bodily functions. Unlike the helpless individuals who we see hypnotized on TV. You can immediately react if there is danger to you or someone close to you nearby. It is at this stage that we use self-affirming words like, “Every time I meet someone new, I take note of his name and his face, and easily remember his name and face later”, “Every time I put down my car keys, I immediately make a note of where I left them”, “Every time I do grocery shopping, I mentally walk through my kitchen for things that I need”, “Every morning, before I leave the house, I go through a mental checklist of appliances that need to be switched off or things I need to bring along with me”. Feel free to add in your own words, the area in which you want your memory to work better for you. It could be things to remember in an exam or a to-do list. You could write down your scripts or use some of the hypnotic audio scripts that have already been prepared for you. For more details, see the link below.

Awakening Stage

This is strictly speaking not an awakening interval, as you were only in the relax-aware stage. Unless of course you have put yourself to sleep! If you are still conscious, mentally count down from 5 to 1. From 5 say, “5, starting today, I am putting mental strategies for my mind to work”, “On 4, each day I am more consciously aware of my surroundings”, “ On 3, my body is feeling the energy from this session”, “On 2, my mind is feeling more refreshed”, “On the count of 1, I will fully open my eyes, fully refreshed and get ready for the day ahead”.

The awakening stage is very helpful to help your body and mind recalibrate to your current surroundings and helps you assimilate whatever suggestions that you are using to program your mind to help you improve your memory. The awakening stage should not be rushed into, unless of course there is something that needs your immediate attention. It also serves to anchor whatever suggestions you are programming your mind with, to improve your memory.

It is important to know that using self-hypnosis to improve your memory is not a quick-fix. The changes seen could depend on a few factors like your hypnotic scripts, the frequency of use, and the time lag in between sessions. The positive effects could be immediate or more likely, take a few weeks before any discernible changes can be seen. It is also important to know that more rapid changes can be seen if you can perform self-hypnosis frequently, if possible, daily or a few times each day. If the time interval between each session is longer, the results can be slower or not noticeable at all.

unconscious mind -your source of unstopable energy

Can you lift a car single-handed? Neither can I, yet we hear news stories about people who perform seemingly impossible feats of strength or endurance in emergency situations. The slender female who lifts the car that has her partner or child trapped beneath it. The average male who walks miles to find help for himself and others despite serious injury.

Most of the time we only use a small fraction of our physical abilities. That’s true of our mental abilities too.

The mind functions on two levels conscious and unconscious. The conscious level of mind is the one that you are using now to read these words. Although you have probably heard of the unconscious level of mind its purpose and functions may be unclear to you. This is the case for many people.

The unconscious mind and its way of operating remind me of my favourite fairy tale “Aladdin and his wonderful lamp”. Your unconscious mind is like that wonderful lamp because it can bring you all that you seek in life when you know how to communicate with it. Why is this? Because you’re unconscious mind unlike your conscious mind knows no limitation.

Your conscious mind contains your self -image. This is the mental picture that you have of yourself containing not just your physical description but also details of your personality traits, skills and abilities. Most of us have a very limited and limiting self-image. This is because our notions of who we are were formulated by the time we reached six or seven years old and not updated.

So at the age of 37,47 or even 57 we still at one level view ourselves as having only the abilities that we had at the age of six.

Of course we are aware consciously of the lifetime of work experience/engineering degree etc that we have now. However this does not help us when our inadequate self-image (most people have an inadequate self-image) kicks in.

This always happens at the worst possible times such as when we are invited to speak at a meeting and want to impress the boss. Or when we meet an attractive member of the opposite sex or meet our future parents in –law.

So how can we overcome this? By seeking the help of the unconscious mind.

As far as our unconscious minds are concerned we can have, do and be anything. At this level no pre-conceived notions exist as to what is or is not possible. Ask and your unconscious mind will find a way to bring your desire into your life.

This brings me back to the story of Aladdin and his wonderful lamp. The lamp brought great riches to those who knew how to use it. To those without this knowledge it just appeared to be a rusty old lamp not worth a second look.

I’ve given you the first key to your unconscious mind by explaining what it is and how it functions.

How To Improve Your Ability to Focus and Concentrate

Remember Bruce Lee?

The name Bruce Lee commands respect and admiration from all over the world. The diminutive man, who stood 1.73 meters tall and weighed less than 65 kilograms, is considered by many as the greatest martial artist of the 20th century. His dynamic on-screen style and stunts impressed fans from all walks of life, and he became one of the most enduring screen icons in the history of motion pictures.

He was a hero to many young boys. In the 1970’s young men from across the world wanted to be Bruce Lee.

He worked hard. He trained hard. He had a tremendous work ethic.

Bruce Lee was once quoted saying, “a successful warrior is an average man with laser-like focus.”

That’s easy to say but with all the daily worries, troubles and concerns we have to deal with, it’s pretty hard to do.

The ability to concentrate and focus is a daunting task, especially when your mind is ridden with stress and distractions.

I believe the following are in your control:

  1. Learn how to remove yourself from all the distractions. A quiet corner and a locked door make a world of difference.
  2. Learn not to give in to temptations. When you hear the television blaring, don’t go and see what show is playing at that moment.
  3. Learn to push yourself to the limit if you want success.
  4. Learn to have planned and rewarded breaks. If concentrating is just too difficult at the moment, then reward yourself with a few minutes breather. For every two hours concentration have a 10-minute break.

Think about the benefits you’ll reap when you push yourself. No one rewards the lazy, and pitfalls come to those who procrastinate.

Learn the value of focus and concentration and experience the benefits.

Don't damage yr brain

Dear All

Subject: BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

Something very useful.... BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar
level.
This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing
brain degeneration.

2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental
power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients
causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted
air
decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in
brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will
accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon
dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain
damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in
effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation
thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.

2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring ,
and
artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce
cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils
like
olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the
body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of
liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies
should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to
adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating
habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and
get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."

Because :

Evening at 9 - 11 pm : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic
chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This
time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during
this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the
dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a
negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1 am : is the detoxification process in the liver, and
ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3 am : detoxification process in the gall, also
ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5 am : detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will
sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since
the
detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need
to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am : detoxification in the colon, you should empty your
bowel.

Morning 7 - 9 am : absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you
should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier,
before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very
beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast,
they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast
late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of
removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is
the
time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and
don't sleep late.

How to frustrate people who steal your handphone

It is worth taking down that serial number.

Before anyone loses his/her mobile phone, one should first check the
serial number of the phone by keying in *#06# where a 15-digit number
will appear on the screen. Please record it down and keep it for
reference.

In case the phone is lost, the rightful owner can call the
Service provider to disable the phone by providing the serial number.

That means, the person who took the phone cannot use it at all even if
they insert a new SIM card. If everyone knows this procedure, there
would not be much use taking away someone's phone. Please feel free to

BETAPA PAYAHNYA MALAIKAT-MALAIKAT MEMINTA TANAH DARI BUMI UNTUK NABI ADAM AS (ABUL BASYAR / Bapa segala manusia)

1. Tanah tempat bakal berdirinya Baitul Mugaddis
2. Tanah Bukit Tursina
3. Tanah Iraq
4. Tanah Aden
5. Tanah Al-Kautsar
6. Tanah tempat bakal berdiringa Baitullah
7. Tanah Paris
8. Tanah Khurasan
9. Tanah(Babylon)
10. Tanah India
11. Tanah syurga
12. Tanah Tha'if

Menurut Ibnu Abbas:
1. Kepala Adam dari tanah Baitul-Muqaddis kerana disitulah berada otak manusia, dan disitulah tempatnya akal.

1. Kepala : dua.liang mata, Dua liang telinga, Dua liang hidung dan sebuah liang mulut.
2. Dibawah: Sebuah liang kemaluan dan liang dubur.

Dijadikan pula lima buah pancaindera:

1. Mata alat penglihatan
2. Hidung alat penciuman
3. Telinga alat pendengaran
4. Mulut alat merasa manis, masin dan sebagainya.
sebagainya.

Setelah Roh masuk kedalam tubuh Adam :

Ketika itulah Allah ajarkan padanya ucapan Alhamdulillah. Itulah ucapan

Adam pertama kalinya kehadrat Allah. Lalu Allah berkata :"Yarhamukallah"

Begitulah proses kejadian-kejadian tubuh Adam.
